Automatic gas fire extinguishing system in Kharkiv
Gas fire extinguishing is one of the many ways to fight fire, during which the following extinguishing agents are used:
- compressed gases (e.g., nitrogen and argon)
- and refrigerants.
The main advantages of gas fire extinguishing over water, aerosol, foam and powder fire extinguishing:
- no surface contamination of the protected equipment is formed as a result of the application;
- the effects of the gas installation are easily eliminated by through ventilation.
An automatic gas fire extinguishing system usually consists of:
- cylinders or containers for storing gas extinguishing agent (GEA),
- gas stored in these cylinders (containers),
- control units,
- pipelines and nozzles that provide gas delivery and release to the protected premises,
- control and fire detectors.
See Table for the standard parameters of the most commonly used gases.:
Characteristics | Refrigerant-125 | Refrigerant-227еа | lnergen | CO2 | Novec™1230 |
Calculated volume concentration, % | 11,2 | 7,9 | 36,5 | 34,9 | 5,3 |
For a simplified calculation of the required amount of gas, you can use the given mass concentrations of State Standard.
- Refrigerant 125 – 0,8 кг/м3
- Refrigerant 227 – 0,6 кг/м3
- СО2 – 1,2 кг/м3
